Freedom Fighters

They came from everywhere — a Punjab college, a Bengal village, a Naga hillside, a Santhal forest — and they gave up ordinary lives for a country most of them never saw freed. This section tells their stories one at a time: Bhagat Singh at 23, Khudiram Bose hanged at 18, Matangini Hazra shot at 73 with the tricolour still in her hand, Birsa Munda who became a god to his people. Some sit in every schoolbook; many have been almost forgotten. Here they get the space they deserve — real people who made an impossible choice, told without the marble and the medals.
