Curious Indian is an editorial publication exploring the soul of India that is Bharat — its history, arts, culture, science, and society. We exist for the reader who wants more than a date and a name: the story behind the event, the human behind the legend, and the meaning behind the ritual.

Our mission

We bridge the gap between academic research and public knowledge. Serious history and culture too often stay locked inside journals and archives. Our job is to bring them out — carefully researched, honestly told, and written so that anyone can read them, without a textbook or a degree.

Our work is organised into six broad areas:

Who is behind Curious Indian

Curious Indian was founded and is led by Paripurna Datta, working with a small editorial team. Every article is researched, written, and reviewed by people — we use technology to organise and assist, but never to replace the human judgement that our readers trust.

How we work
